GAD EXPLORER

#GADExplorer | Gender-Inclusive Disaster Risk Management

Women—with their extensive knowledge of communities, social roles of managing natural environmental resources, and caring responsibilities—increasingly play a critical role in disaster risk management. Empowering women is the key to strengthening disaster resilience of communities.

This publication was contributed by the UP Geography 255 (AY 2020-2021, 2nd Semester) through their Service Learning Activity (SLA). The SLA is a collaboration with PCW that endeavored to identify gender issues in disaster experience, response, and management and compile a list of research studies, publications, manuals /modules, and other relevant materials related to gender and disasters in the Philippines.
